GROWN & GIVEN
Millay and Meadowlark Flower Farm is a labor of love.
Jennifer Barnard, lead farmer, dreamed of starting a flower
farm for many years. At the beginning of 2020, she finally
decided to put her dreams into action.
Jennifer lives in Missoula, Montana with her husband, Jared, and
three children, Connor, Josephine, and Ian.
Her right-hand man on the farm is Connor, her oldest son, who has
Down Syndrome. Employment options for disabled adults are
limited, but Connor has been eager to engage in meaningful work
ever since he graduated from High School. Part of the motivation for
creating Millay and Meadowlark was to provide opportunities for
Connor to contribute and maintain as well as learn new skills. He loves to
help grow flowers, and is an example of how much reward can come from hiring individuals with special needs.
